Boeing 777 certified with General Electric GE90-94B engines

Boeing 777 certified with General Electric GE90-94B engines
Following a 20-month test program, Boeing's B-777 with General Electric GE90-94B engines received FAA certification, the company announced.

Rated at 94,000 lb of thrust, the GE90-94B will power the 777-200ER (extended range) airplane, which has a range of 7,700 nautical miles. The first GE90-94B-powered 777 is expected to be delivered to Air France this week.

The derivative GE90-94B incorporates new technologies such as a three-dimensional aerodynamic (3-D Aero) high pressure compressor, designed to improve fuel burn and increase the exhaust gas temperature margin, the latter which permits the 94,000-lb thrust rating.

Launched 10 years ago, the Boeing has orders for more than 500 B777 and has delivered 305.
