Litton Aero ProductsME (autonomous integrity monitored extrapolation) technology is a software algorithm that solves the GPS integrity problem and provides sole means navigation with GPS accuracy for commercial aircraft. The Litton LTN-101 Global Positioning System Air Data Inertial Reference (GPADIRS) system, for example, uses AIME software to provide en route, terminal and non-precision approach guidance in any weather without ground-based radio aids or predictive programs. AIME technology compensates for GPS's inherent deficiencies by integrating GPS and IRS in a patented algorithm. The AIME function continuously analyzes available satellite and inertial signals. If the data's integrity is compromised, AIME automatically uses the aircraft's position history to maintain accuracy. Onboard predictive RAIM programs are not required.
